I purchased the FT along with the stack up grade as well as some flooring. I'm in a highrise so had it delivered and setup which went very smoothly. This machine pretty much lets you do anything you can do at the gym other than leg press. With ankle cuffs you can do standing leg curls with a bosu between your thigh and the machine and turn around for extensions.
If I had to say there was a shortcoming it would be the lat pulldown bar that hooks to both stacks is not quite ergonomic and under load it rotates so that the handgrip area is tipped the wrong way (thumbs toward the floor instead of up toward the ceiling). Maybe its just me? I got a wide tricep bar that I can use for pulldowns but with the 2:1 ratio that's only 80lbs on one stack (100 with the upgrade) so the other solution I had is to use single handle and do them one arm at a time.
I was also worried that there wouldn't be room to do pullups with an 8 foot ceiling and might need the reversed bar option but there is plenty of clearance at 8'.
After 6 months of daily use it has only needed some lubricant on the rods that the stacks travel on because the bushings were beginning to bind, making the cable "stutter" throughout the pull.
I have used a competitors FT and it "inspired" me to get the Element Neurtron because to me this looks, feels and performs more like a commercial machine.
I wish they had a leg press/curl/extension attachment for this machine, then it would be perfect for everything.
