They See Me Rolling

Known best as a self myofascial release tool, they're a great add-on to a pre-workout warm-up or when you can't go get a massage. They were created to aid in the reduction of muscle soreness and inflammation by increasing blood flow to large muscle groups and stimulating the neuromuscular activation.

Although many people choose one, you CAN use a foam roller both before and after a workout. Foam rolling before a workout can help prepare your body for movement and reduce the risk of injury. Foam rolling after a workout can help reduce soreness and stiffness, and prevent cramps.

Foam rolling has many benefits and doing it a few times a week, if not daily, can help with muscle soreness, stiffness, and fatigue after exercise. It can also help muscles recover faster, which can improve your performance in future workouts.

You can perform rolling actions or a pin-and-stretch on most of your major muscle groups, like your upper and lower back, quads, hamstrings and glutes, calves, and in yuor upper body rolling the triceps and as a tool to stretch the chest and shoulders.

Foam rolling can help improve the health and flexibility of your connective tissue, which supports your muscles, tendons, ligaments, and bones; and in correlation may help to increase your range of motion in your joints.

For individuals with any neuromuscular or connective tissue disorders, or those who are or may be pregnant, you may want to consult your doctor first.
