We have been delivering fitness equipment across Canada since 1988, and almost every delivery problem we have ever seen came from one of three things: nobody measured the doorway, nobody expected a skid, or nobody arranged help to move 300 pounds. All three are avoidable in ten minutes.

What curbside delivery actually means

Freight carriers deliver to the curb. The driver operates a lift gate to lower the skid to ground level and that is where their responsibility ends. They will not bring the item inside, up stairs, or into a garage.

This is standard across the industry, not specific to us — it is a function of freight carrier insurance, not service quality.

You will need: two able people, roughly 30 minutes, and a clear path from the curb to the room.

Why it arrives on a skid

Treadmills weigh 180–430 lb boxed. That is far beyond parcel shipping limits, so equipment moves as LTL — less-than-truckload — freight on a wooden pallet.

This is also the reason ordering heavy equipment from outside Canada rarely works out. Cross-border LTL freight plus duty routinely adds several hundred dollars per pallet and weeks of transit. Everything we sell ships from Canadian stock.

Before you order: measure these five things

1. The narrowest doorway on the route. Including the front door, any interior doors, and the turn at the bottom of the stairs. That last one catches people out more than anything else.
2. Stairwell width and the turn radius. A straight run is fine. A 90-degree landing halfway down is where deliveries fail.
3. Ceiling height in the destination room. Your height plus about 20 inches for a treadmill; more for a high-incline trainer, which raises the deck substantially.
4. Floor space plus clearance. The machine footprint plus roughly two feet behind for safety.
5. Elevator dimensions if you are in a condo, and whether your building requires a booking.

Every product page lists assembled and boxed dimensions. If the boxed dimensions will not clear your doorway, call us before ordering — some machines can be partially disassembled for access, and we will tell you which.

Condo and apartment delivery

Condos need more planning than houses. Most buildings require:

• A booked service elevator, often days in advance and sometimes with a deposit.
• A loading dock time slot, which may not match the carrier's window.

Talk to your property manager before you order, then tell us what the building requires. We coordinate this regularly.

Also consider your neighbours. A rubber treadmill mat or interlocking tiles underneath substantially reduces impact noise transmitted to the unit below. It is the cheapest thing you will buy and the one that prevents complaints.

Delivery with assembly

Our optional service covers delivery into the room of your choice, full assembly, positioning, a function test, and removal of the packaging.

Worth booking if: the equipment is going above a ground floor or into a basement; you do not have two able people available; the machine is a rack, functional trainer or anything over 250 lb; or you simply would rather it was done properly the first time.

Probably not necessary if: it is going in a ground-floor room with a straight path from the door, and you have help.

Assembly on a large treadmill or rack typically takes two people several hours. Smith machines and all-in-one trainers can take a full day.

What happens on delivery day

1. You get a call. The carrier contacts you to arrange a window, usually a few hours wide.
2. Clear the route. Move furniture, prop doors, clear the driveway of snow and ice.
3. Inspect before signing. Check the packaging for crush damage or punctures. Note any damage on the waybill before you sign — once signed clean, a damage claim becomes very difficult.
4. Move it inside. Take the box off the skid rather than moving the skid. Slide, do not lift, where you can.
5. Unbox in the destination room. Assembled machines are much harder to move than boxed ones.

Winter deliveries

Clear and salt the driveway and walkway before the truck arrives. Lift gates need a level, non-slip surface, and a driver who cannot safely lower a skid will reschedule — which usually means another week.

Also let equipment sit indoors for a few hours before powering it on. Electronics brought in from a cold truck can develop condensation, and running a machine in that state risks the console.

Frequently asked questions

Will you bring the treadmill into my house?

Not with standard shipping. Curbside delivery means the driver lowers the skid at the end of your driveway. Our optional delivery and assembly service brings it into the room of your choice, assembles it, tests it and removes the packaging.

How much does a treadmill weigh when it arrives?

Boxed weights typically run 180–430 lb depending on the model. Boxed weight is listed on every product page. Plan for two people minimum.

Can a treadmill be delivered to a condo?

Yes, though most buildings require a booked service elevator and a loading dock slot, sometimes days in advance. Check with your property manager before ordering and let us know the requirements so we can coordinate with the carrier.

What if the treadmill will not fit through my door?

Check boxed dimensions against your narrowest doorway before ordering. Some machines can be partially disassembled for access — call 1.888.469.3031 with the model and your measurements and we will tell you whether it is possible.

What do I do if my equipment arrives damaged?

Note the damage on the waybill before you sign, and photograph the packaging and the item. Then contact us. Signing a clean waybill makes a freight damage claim very difficult, so inspect before signing.

Do I need a special outlet for a treadmill?

A standard 120V outlet is fine, but it should be a dedicated circuit. Sharing with a fridge, freezer or space heater causes intermittent shutdowns. Never run a treadmill on an extension cord — it is the most common cause of controller board damage we see.

Is shipping free?

Free shipping applies to most cardio and strength equipment to most major Canadian cities. Additional fees may apply for remote areas. Delivery with assembly is a separate optional service.
