I filled it up with water and the base doesn't move. The bag is good quality and the spring makes it better for punching.

We have owned this bag for over a year and it has received many blows. It looks as good today as it did a year ago. Responds to each kick and punch and when it springs back, it encourages you to block, strike or dodge; great sparring aspect. Filled the base with sand and whether you are a lightweight or heavyweight, you can make good use of this bag. I had used hanging bags for years and I now prefer the standing style.
