XM 300lbs Steel Olympic Weight Set with Bar

I was expecting the barbell would be an XM brand considering it is advertised as an XM weight set with bar. The barbell was a Element Fitness brand.

The barbell arrived 2 weeks after the expected delivery date ( but the plates arrived on time).

Exactly what I expected

With growing teens we decided to set up a home gym for our family for Christmas this year to use instead of spending money on gym memberships and wasting time on travel to-and-from. We're so glad we decided to purchase this equipment through the The Fitness Factory. The prices are very competitive, the equipment is solid and excellent quality and the customer service is top-notch from purchase to pickup! It was one of the best investments we've ever made for our family!

These plates are great, I think they are nicer than the classic York style plates with the big lip. These are more versatile. They are easier to pick up off of the floor, and the openings give you lots of options for picking them up and holding them. I have had them several years and they're holding up great.
I believe the bar diameter is a little chunky for my preference, maybe 30mm? (it's been years since I bought this, they might include a different bar by now for all i know), but I sold it and got a different bar. But if you have big hands this bar should be fine too!

Great starting set from Extreme Monkey. The Olympic bar is of high quality, as well as the weights that come with it. With the handles they're easy to maneuver. I looked everywhere and even with the shipping I couldn't find a better deal. I see some people had issues with the clips, however the clips I got with the set work perfect. Can't go wrong with this set.

I would change the clips on the end. They are very loose and won't in any way prevent weight from sliding off and damaging your floor which is what happened to me the first use. A 2.5 lb weight took a big chunk out of my laminate floor. I'm searching for something better to use.

I needed an upgrade from my York Olympic set, as well as buying more weights. The plates are solid, and the barbell is knurled nicely, perfect for deadlifts, and rated for 300kg, which is enough for me. Will be my new bar for deadlift.

Love this olympic set! Super solid with weights that fit perfectly and stay on but are not difficult to get on and off. Ends rotate, which helps to keep the weights from moving as you lift. The nice range of weight means you can get exactly what you want. Handle grips and rubberized coating makes them really nice to use.

Good set of equipment, clips work well with weights

This set is just as pictured and is a great value for the money, the clips are easy to use, the bar is solid and the weights are sturdy. There was a manufacturing issue with one of the plates but when I addressed it with treadmill factory they had a new plate out to me that same day. Fantastic product and customer service.
