NordicTrack X16 Elliptical: Buying Guide & FAQs
The NordicTrack X16 Elliptical NTEL71625 is a long-stride elliptical with a tilting 16" touchscreen, 26 digital resistance levels and an elevation range from -10% decline to 10% incline. Its listed 32" auto-adjustable stride is a key point to compare with more conventional elliptical designs.
Who should consider the X16?
It is worth trying if you want a broader range of stride movement and enjoy varying both resistance and elevation. Test the full movement at several settings where a demonstration is available. Stride length is not simply a quality score: the best choice is the movement that feels controlled and comfortable for you.
How does it differ from the AirGlide 16?
The AirGlide 16 lists a 19" auto-adjustable stride and elevation measured in degrees, while the X16 lists a 32" stride and elevation in percent. These are different movement designs, and degrees should not be compared directly with percentage gradients. Try both if stride feel is your main concern.
How much space does it need?
The listed footprint is 58.5" L x 29.5" W x 74" H, with a 375 lb user capacity. Allow clearance for the moving pedals and handles, getting on and off and the user at the top of the motion. Machine height alone does not establish the ceiling clearance needed.
What does the touchscreen add?
The screen tilts so you can adjust the viewing angle for your workout. Full trainer-led iFIT content and connected features require a compatible paid membership and internet access. Confirm current membership terms and any separate entertainment subscriptions before ordering.
Can it replace running?
It provides a different cardio movement with your feet supported on pedals. Choose it because you enjoy that movement and will use it consistently; it does not reproduce every part of outdoor running. Compare your training goals and preferences alongside the hardware features.
What should I check before buying?
