They have been used for sport and training since the middle of the 1800s and have been popular globally since the 1940s, but you may still be unsure WHY they are so beneficial.

Kettlebell training has many benefits, primarily that it is low impact, mainly accessible, very scalable, and not overly expensive to begin.

Additionally it is a Full-body exercise. KB training is dynamic exercise modality that works out your entire body, while allowing you to emphasize efforts for the intended muscle groups you are looking to challenge. e.g. KB Swings, are a hip hinge exercise, but will work grip, shoulders, core and lower limbs as the weight and speed of swings increase.

You are working on Core strength. The shape of a kettlebell requires your body to work harder to lift and swing it, which can help improve your core strength and stability. Plus specialised movements like the windmill and horn-grip movements, challenge the core more directly.

Kettlebells have thicker handles than dumbbells or barbells, which can help improve your grip strength and forearm power. Plus their shape, with the load being separated from the handle, means your grip is additionally tested compared to dumbbells.

Though very much a strength-building modality, kettlebell training can definitely help you improve your conditioning and Cardio . Being lower impact, it may be a more viable option for some people than traditional cardio methods, like running or plyometrics.
